“ | I like to think of Barbarians as people who just didn't really learn any manners. It's far too late for them to learn any now, and Thieves are their friends. Did I mention they're all going to attack you and everyone you know with sharp things? | ” |

Barbarian is a character from the Castle Crashers series. Barbarians are common enemies in the game. They are loyal subordinates to the Barbarian Boss, and are engaged in a war with Home Kingdom.
Background[]
The Barbarians have been in a conflict with Home Castle for some time prior to the events of Castle Crashers. During a party at Home Castle, Barbarians ransacked the village, kidnapping the four princesses. Home Castle's four knights followed after them to rescue the princesses. The chase spreads out to an ongoing war, where the Knights battle the Barbarian leader, the Barbarian Boss. The Barbarians were later shown trading the princesses for a pile of gold with the Industrial Prince. When the Knights enter the Wizard Castle Interior, corpses of previous enemies, including Barbarians, litter the building. The Necromancer uses his magic to resurrect them to fight the Knights.
Character Profile[]
BattleBlock Theater-Bearing the ceremonial helmet of his forefathers is really just an excuse to play in the dirt and be extra rowdy.
Character Interations[]
Hatty Hattington[]
In BattleBlock Theater, all playable characters are referred to as "prisoners". The game's story mode shows that these prisoners are friends of Hatty Hattington, and they embarked on a journey on Hatty's ship. Their voyage ended abruptly when the ship got caught in a storm, and crashed onto BattleBlock Theater. The residents of the theater, the Cat Guards, capture Hatty and his friends, brainwashing Hatty to be their leader and forcing the crewmates to become actors in their dangerous theater plays. As Barbarian appears as a playable character, this means that Hatty befriended him prior to the game's events. Barbarian works with the other crewmates to escape BattleBlock Theater and rescue Hatty.
BattleBlock Theater[]
Barbarian makes a cameo appearance in BattleBlock Theater. He was an unlockable Prisoner for a limited time from 08/22/2014 until 09/06/2014.[2][3] [4] It is available as DLC on the Steam Community Market.[5] Like the other Prisoners, he was a fellow crewmate and friend of Hatty Hattington. He was captured by the Cat Guards and was forced to entertain them in the BattleBlock Theater.
Happy Wars[]
Equipment based on Barbarian was available for a limited time event in 2013. By playing the Bounty Hunters mode, players can unlock the Barbarian Helmet, Barbarian Helm Pro, Barbarian Tunic, Barbarian Axe, Barbarian Axe Pro, Barbarian Shield and Barbarian Shield Pro.
