Golden Whale is a character from the BattleBlock Theater series. It made a brief appearance during the S. S. Friendship's shipwreck, and is shown to have the ability to produce gold.
Background[]
The S. S. Friendship was a ship owned by Hatty Hattington. During its initial voyage, the boat, which was boarded by Hatty and his many friends, got caught in a storm. The storm caused damage to the ship, throwing crewmembers into the waters below. One of the creatures that sprang out of the water was a Golden Whale, which terrified the crew. The disturbance produced by the storm and the animals cause the S. S. Friendship to become shipwrecked on BattleBlock Theater. The crewmates were captured by the residents of BattleBlock Theater, the Cat Guards, while Hatty was possessed by a hat owned by the previous owners of the theater. Held prisoner by the cats, the crewmates worked together to free themselves from captivity, while trying to end Hatty's brainwashing.
The Golden Whale has a larger role in the Grab the Gold Arena mode. In this mini-game, players have to collect Cube Coins dropped by the Golden Whale. They then have to deposit them into a flying safe, earning points. If a player gets attacked by another player, they will drop their Cube Coins. The team with the most points win.

Golden Whale appears as an Animal Orb in Castle Crashers. As an Animal Orb, Golden Whale has the Gold Drop Primary Ability. Golden Whale will drop Cube Coins on the battlefield every 12-17 seconds. Its Hidden Ability is Treasure Boost, which increases the chance of gold coins being dropped by defeated enemies, and increases the rate of gemstones found in chests. A Golden Whale also makes an appearance in Hatty's Make It Rain Splash Attack, firing Cube Coins onto the battlefield.
