Background[]

Set in the near future, Mason City is a swiftly advancing metropolis, with robots replacing conventional human work. The advancement of technology has led to a rise in criminal activity, while law enforcement organizations in Mason City are challenged by a shortage of employees. This captures the interest of SumoSam, an entrepreneur who dominates the city's robot market and seeks to automate the entire national workforce under SumoCorp's authority[2]. SumoSam suggests that to eliminate crime in the city, all active law enforcement officers should be substituted by SumoCorp's droids.[3] Following several exhibitions of SumoSam’s law enforcement robots and the inhabitants of Mason City desperate for the increasing crime to end, the mayor is compelled to support SumoSam's agreement until news of Alloy's deeds is disclosed.[4] In addition, since Alloy is working for free, the mayor reconsiders her agreement with SumoCorp, and nstead forges a new partnership with the police force and Alloy[5][6]. SumoSam remains staunch in his pursuit of privatizing Mason City and is currently working to enhance his most valued robot, Recoil, by incorporating data from an extraterrestrial suit of armor. Recoil is dispatched to Mason City in order to enhance its capabilities and expose Alloy's concealed identity.[7]

Mason's Bubble Blast 2[]

Mason City makes a minor appearance in Mason's Bubble Blast 2. It appears as the setting for the second and third levels. In the second level, Mason flees the Ferrets' Secret Hide Out and reaches on the outskirts of Mason City. There, he encounters a large group of ferret soldiers loyal to Queen Peanut. The level concludes with Mason triumphing over Titus, a ferret who works for Peanut. Mason proceeds into Mason City for the third level, where he fights more of Peanut's warriors before confronting Peanut herself. When Mason fights against MindChamber in his secret boss fight, the battle takes place in Mason City.
